Tonight saw the NXT Takeover: R Evolution event and the climax of two very personal feuds that have kept NXT audiences captivated.

However two of the results from R Evolution could have major implications around the entire WWE.

With Triple H backstage at the event, the next big generation of NXT superstars took to the ring to show what they could do.

There were two matches in particular that could be about to impact the rest of the WWE in the next few months.

With a new NXT Champion in Sami Zayn and several other high profile matches at the event, it certainly was one to remember.

The NXT Championship match is one match that could lead to a big development within the WWE main roster.

Sami Zayn finally defeated Adrian Neville to win the title and with Neville no longer the champion, he could be set to leave the NXT stage.

there would only be one place for Neville to go and that would be to the main roster and with his blend of high flying ability and mic work, he could excel on RAW and Smackdown.

Neville is one of the most popular NXT superstars and his progression to the main roster could really help to boost interest in the mid-card of the Pay-Per-Views.

Neville instantly leaving NXT could be questionable as there may be another graduate to make the step to the main roster first.

Next big NXT move

With R Evolution having been filmed tonight, unless you read the Smackdown spoilers you will be unaware that a video promo for the NXT tag team known as the Ascension will be shown on tomorrow's show.

The former NXT Tag Team champions are clearly set for a move to the main roster, although no date for their debut has yet been set.

What we could expect from the team however would be a January debut since the first RAW of the year is often a big show as they try to build up the feuds ahead of the Royal Rumble.

Perhaps both Neville and the Ascension debuting in early January is a possibility as they could look to bring both in with time to build a story before the Royal Rumble.

With the Ascension losing their big match tonight against Hideo Itami and Finn Balor, and Neville losing his title, now is the perfect time for the WWE to think about progressing the superstars up to the main roster and allowing for new superstars to dominate the top of NXT.
