Kew Jaliens tackle in A-League is contender for worst of the season

This is not for the squeamish. In the 82nd minute of Perth Glory's 2-0 win over the Newcastle Jets this morning, Jets defender Kew Jaliens was sent off for an x-rated horror tackle. Just look at the picture above.

He instantly apologises, clearly realising that he's mistimed the tackle. It's not just that though, his foot is so high that it's a miracle he didn't break the opponent's leg.

Fortunately, Scott Jamieson seems to have avoided serious injury, and his side clinched a 2-0 victory to extend their lead to four points at the top of the A-League table.
