Manchester United winger Angel di Maria looks set to return to the side that takes on Aston Villa at Villa Park this weekend, reports the Daily Star.

The Argentine international, who has missed the club's last three league fixtures after picking up a hamstring problem, could now return to the starting XI for the showdown with Paul Lambert's side on Saturday afternoon.

Busy schedule

There's no doubt about it, with Di Maria yet to feature in December, this news will come as a major boost for the Red Devils ahead of the Christmas schedule.

With Di Maira in the side, United are without a doubt far more of a threat on the break as he can use his pace to get in behind defences. He certainly offers Louis van Gaal's side something different as he's able to provide assists and goals for the side.

Without him, though, Manchester United have been in excellent form of late after securing their sixth straight league victory in a row against rivals Liverpool yesterday afternoon.

Thanks to goals from Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Robin van Persie, the Red Devils beat Liverpool by three goals to nil on home soil as they cemented their place in the top three of England's elite division.

With Villa up next, United will be confident of continuing their fine run as they have quite the record at Villa Park. And, with Paul Lambert's side struggling for form this season, they will be nervous by the prospect of taking on United's extremely potent attack.

Class of Di Maria

Di Maria will most certainly improve United as a force going forward, whilst the likes of Rooney, Van Persie and Mata will once again be hoping to shine for the Red Devils.

Colombian hit-man Radamel Falcao will be desperate to start this weekend after only being used sporadically of late, whilst youngsters James Wilson and Adnan Januzaj will once again be in contention for the Old Trafford outfit.
