Chelsea goalkeeper sent fans heart's fluttering when he seemed to claim that David Luiz would be making a surprise return to Stamford Bridge.
Luiz was sold to Paris Saint-Germain over the summer for a fee of £50 million having joined the Blues from Benfica in 2011.
The defender was a fan favourite during his time in west London, and he'll have the chance to revisit his old stomping ground after PSG were drawn against Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions League earlier today.
However before then Cech sent Twitter into overdrive when he seemed to suggest that the Brazilian could be about to make a shock return that had nothing to do with the Champions League showdown only to quickly clarify his remarks.
There were more than few Chelsea fans that thought Cech meant something else altogether:
Chelsea can consider themselves hard done-by after being handed a tough assignment against the Ligue 1 champions, who finished as runners up behind Barcelona in their Champions League group.
The first leg will take place at the Parc des Prince on February 17, with the return leg at Stamford Bridge on March 11. The game is a repeat of last year's quarter-final clash where Chelsea fought back from a first leg deficit to claim a place in the final four.
Elsewhere, Manchester City have been drawn against Barcelona, while Arsenal received a favourable draw and will face Monaco. The remainder of the last 16 ties are as follows:
Bayer Leverkusen v Atletico Madrid, Juventus v Borussia Dortmund, Schalke v Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk v Bayern Munich, Basel v Porto
