Boston Celtics forward Evan Turner compares himself to Jesus

Football News

Evan Turner plays for the Boston Celtics. He used to play for the Philadelphia 76ers before he was traded as part of the tanking effort.

Turner and the Celtics faced off against the Sixers last night in Philly. Turner was booed by the 76ers fans who view him as an unlikeable chap who basically demanded to be let go.

But the cacophony of boos and jeers raining down from the City of Brotherly Love didn't seem to bother Turner...because Jesus was apparently hated too. Yeah, seriously.

"I don't worry about it anymore. I don't want to sound super weird, but Jesus was hated too." - Evan Turner.

"At the end of the day, I just worry about the stuff that's important. If it makes you happy to boo me, go ahead. I'm still happy. I put all that stuff behind me," the small forward added.

Evan Turner is not a saviour to anybody. Trust the 76ers fans, they would know having put up with him for four seasons after drafting him with the 2nd overall pick in 2010.

The forward had the last laugh of the night though as his Boston Celtics dismantled the Sixers with relative ease while Turner finished the night scoring in double-figures.

I bet the big J.C had a better jump shot though.
