From December 1st until December 25th, one goal will be presented each day. The goals in the calendar have all been scored within the since January 1st this year.
The goals have been picked out by a jury of three people after a thorough review of the football year.
For December 19th, we have chosen Oriol Riera's mid-air backheel at El Madrigal last season. Enjoy!
It would be wrong to claim that this is 100 percent skill. A bit of luck is definitely required in order for such a backheel to find the net.
Regardless of that, Riera is heavily pressured by a defender, and his solution to the situation is very creative. The goal just looks magnificent. He flies graciously, and redirects it with a perfect touch on the heel. Wow.
Even for Barcelona and Real Madrid, the away games against Villarreal are tricky. It is not uncommon that Los Submarinos Amarillos come away with one, or even three points. Osasuna are heavily unfavored prior to this kind of games, and even though the goal merely reduced the score gap, it shouldn't be considered as insignificant.

The goals have been examined on the following points...
- Plain and simple. The goals have been rated in regard of the skill displayed.
- Resistance includes anything that might have affected the level of the opposition.
If a goal means the difference between win and draw, it has been higher valued than a 7-0 goal scored in the 90th minute. The base quality of the team who conceded has also been taken into account.
In order for it to be in the calendar, a goal has to have been scored in one of the following competitions:
- The FIFA World Cup

- Copa del Rey
