Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal was interrupted during his press conference today as the club's masseuse was asked to go to the dressing room because of an emergency, according to Rob Dawson of the Manchester Evening News.

The full extent of the situation has yet to have been revealed, but it was clearly of some concern to the boss of the Red Devils as he looked ahead to his side's Premier League showdown with Aston Villa tomorrow afternoon.

The unknown

In fact, it has been suggested that the Dutchman responded to the interruption by saying 'emergency?', but no clarification was given regarding the incident.

There's no doubt about it, Manchester United fans will be hoping that the so called emergency isn't a serious one for any of their star players.

After a number of injury problems throughout the campaign so far, the Red Devils have only just started getting a number of their key players fit as they start to build up momentum in the Premier League.

In fact, ahead of this weekend's match at Villa Park, Argentine superstar Angel di Maria is in contention to feature. It's expected, though, that the winger will pick up a place on the bench as he returns to the setup.

Falcao to start?

Colombian hit-man Radamel Falcao, meanwhile, could be handed a place in the starting XI tomorrow, with youngster James Wilson possibly dropping to the bench.

With the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, Juan Mata and Co. all likely to feature tomorrow, United shouldn't be short of fire power in attack as they go in search of goals.

Manchester United fans will certainly be in great spirits ahead of tomorrow's clash as their side goes in search of claiming a seventh straight victory in England's elite division. In fact, if they secure the points away from home, then they will move to within five points of league leaders Chelsea.

It remains to be seen, however, as to whether the details regarding the 'emergency' will be released as speculation continues.
