From December 1st until December 25th, one goal will be presented each day. The goals in the calendar have all been scored within the since January 1st this year.
The goals have been picked out by a jury of three people after a thorough review of the football year.
The goal for December 22 is Fabian Delph's solo performance and backheel against Chelsea in last year's edition of the Premier League.
Motivation
Difficulty
The kind of shuffle that Delph uses to fool his first opponent shows tremendous control, and is certainly a highlight. It is not the peak of this sequence, though. The finish is stunning, creative, amazing and smart all at once.
The ball is passed behind you. What do you do? Recieve the ball and try from there? No. You linger with your left leg and score with the backheel, of course.
Resistance
Chelsea are renowned for having one of the strongest defences in Europe and can easily be considered one of the best teams in the world. Even so, Delph manages to decieve the lot of them.
It's hard to lay blame on any player in Chelsea's defence, simply becuase no one actually made a mistake. The attacking performance was just magnificent.
