Clarke Carlisle is in hospital with serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a lorry. The 35-year-old retired footballer turned television pundit was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary following an accident on the A64 near York on Monday. Cricket now and Australian all-rounder Shane Watson was left "shaken" after he was hit on the helmet by a bouncer during a nets session ahead of the third Test against India, which starts on Boxing Day. The 33-year-old was knocked to the ground by a short delivery from fast bowler James Pattinson, and was assessed by doctors at the Melbourne Cricket Ground who said he was "shaken but otherwise okay". And finally to Boxing, where Amir Khan says he will find out in the 'next couple of weeks' if his fight with Floyd Mayweather is on. The Bolton-born welterweight is hopeful of securing the superfight he craves off the back of this month's convincing victory over Devon Alexander.
