Brendan Rodgers and Mauricio Pochettino won't be having as much of a merry Christmas as they would have wished for as their number one target Jackson Martinez has snubbed a move, reports the Daily Express.

Tottenham Hotspur were planning to offer an exchange between the services of Jackson Martinez and current strikers Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor to Porto.

Whilst the Portuguese club have not refused the offer, Jackson Martinez himself has responded to the news and quashed claims of a summer move to White Hart Lane.

And before Liverpool fans begin to pull the crackers and tuck into their turkey, the 28-year-old has also snubbed a move to Merseyside after admitting that Arsenal are the only club who are in his future plans.

Brendan Rodgers seems to be turned away everywhere he goes in search of a forward to revive the Reds' hopes of gaining European football again next year. Recently he was rejected by Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette before Martinez snubbed a move.

It will certainly come with great disappointment to the former Swansea boss as the Colombian has netted an incredible 56 goals in 72 games for Porto, something that Liverpool are in desperate need of.

However, whilst Martinez would be in favour of a move to the Emirates, a switch to North London is most likely to happen in the summer after the 28-year-old revealed his desire to play with Porto in the Champions League when they successfully progressed to the final sixteen round where they will face Basel in a double-legged tie.

The Daily Express reports that if Arsenal do make a move for the forward in the summer, Arsene Wenger will be expected to hand over a staggering £35 million for the services of the goal machine.
