The fallout from Mesut Ozil’s break-up has got a bit serious; the model involved has decided to sue her ex-boyfriend after he leaked steamy text messages between her and the Arsenal superstar on the internet.

According to the Daily Mirror, Melanie Rickinger has lodged a legal complaint against Christian Lell following his decision to go public over the break-up and release a series of WhatsApp messages between the 24-year-old glamour model and Ozil.

Ozil was heavily criticised by Lell, a former Bayern Munich star, for using his status as one of Germany’s leading stars and a £42million signing for the Emirates Stadium club to seduce Rickinger.

He didn’t mince his words about his ex-girlfriend either, describing her as a “snake” and a “relationship killer”. The story, which originally broke in German newspaper Bild, spelled trouble for Ozil too.

Arsenal’s record signing saw his relationship with model and pop star girlfriend Melanie Capristo fall; apart and it could be one of the reasons for him not finding his best form so far this season.

Capristo moved to London with him when he made the switch from Real Madrid to the Gunners in 2013, but has since deleted all photos of the attacking midfielder from her Intsagram and Facebook accounts.

Meanwhile, Rickinger has not taken kindly to having private messages made public and Attorney General Thomas Steinkraus-Koch confirmed legal action had been taken.

She described Lell, who currently plays for Levante in La Liga, as “crazy” and accused him of going to great lengths to access the messages from her mobile phone without permission.

“I deleted everything on my phone. He must have gone himself and backed everything up,” she is quoted as saying in the report.
