Chelsea ready to rival Manchester City for Wilfried Bony

Chelsea are ready to rival Manchester City for the signature of Wilfried Bony, with The Times reporting that it will take an offer of at least £20m to convince Swansea to cash-in on the Ivorian striker. Scouts from Stamford Bridge and the Etihad Stadium were in attendance at Anfield for Monday night's Premier League clash between Liverpool and the Swans, specifically to run the rule over the 26-year-old talisman. Jose Mourinho would prefer to move for Bony at the end of the season, but could be forced to make an early offer if City press ahead with plans to lure him north in January. The Blues are well stocked in the striker department with Diego Costa, Loic Remy and Didier Drogba all available first-team options, but the same can't be said for Manchester City who have something of an injury crisis with Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic all sidelined. Bony signed a new four-year contract at the Liberty Stadium in November which means Swansea will be under no obligation
