AS Roma striker Mattia Destro is reportedly on his way out of the club with three Premier League sides interested in signing the Italian. However, Serie A rivals AC Milan are winning the race, according to talkSPORT.

The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to England with London clubs Arsenal and Chelsea both rumoured to be interested over the summer, but reports eventually lead to nothing.

With the January transfer window now open, more speculation surrounding the Italian's future has emerged with two new clubs entering the race to sign him.

Liverpool Interest

As well as Arsenal and Chelsea, Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool have now reportedly entered the race to sign the 23-year-old, and could make a formal move for him this month.

Rodgers is desperate to add more firepower to his side and a new striker is high on his wishlist, despite signing two over the summer.

The Reds lost Luis Suarez to FC Barcelona after the World Cup and decided to replace him with Rickie Lambert from Southampton and Mario Balotelli from AC Milan.

The two new faces have struggled at Anfield, both lacking the goals needed for Liverpool, and with Daniel Sturridge still out injured, Rodgers is in dire need of a new target-man.

AC Milan Loan

However, if Rodgers wants to add Destro to his side, he will have to move fast as according to reports in Italy, AC Milan have entered the race to sign the striker.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Milan are keen on signing Destro on a six-month loan deal with a view to making it permanent in the Summer at the end of the season.

The San Siro club lost Fernando Torres this Winter as they sent him out on loan to Atletico Madrid, and they are keen on bringing in a replacement, and Destro is the man they are considering.

Despite the concrete interest from Milan, the potential deal could collapse quickly as Roma hold out for a £4million loan-fee.
