Gary Lineker couldn't help but get a little excited when Adebayo Akinfenwa scored the goal that brought League Two AFC Wimbledon level with Liverpool in their FA Cup clash on Monday night.

The Match of the Day presenter tweeted "F***infenwa! 1-1." Before joking in a later tweet "Auto-correct can be irritating!"

Akinfenwa, known by many as 'The Beast', bundled home a 36th minute equaliser from close range after a Steven Gerrard header had put Liverpool one up.

Watching Akinfenwa may have come as a bit of a shock to the former-England international. Quite the different player to Lineker, Akinfenwa's unique strength and large build had made him into somewhat of a cult hero despite playing in the lower leagues.

But, alas, it was not to be for Akinfenwa against the club he supported as a boy, as Gerrard scored a second goal to see Liverpool through to the next round and keep their cup dreams alive.

However, along with his goal, Akinfenwa was able to take something to savour away from this encounter with Liverpool, as he swapped shirts with the Reds skipper following the full-time whistle.

We suspect he might have a bit of trouble squeezing his 16st frame into Gerrard's jersey, though!
