Manchester United gifted opportunity to sign Bundesliga star

Manchester United will be gifted the opportunity to sign Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan this summer, despite the fact that the German international is reluctant to leave the Signal Iduna Park. Reports on the continent suggest that Dortmund are worried about losing the midfielder for free when his contract runs out in 2016, and don’t want to risk a repeat of the scenario that saw Robert Lewandowski depart for nothing this summer. A release clause that is said to stand at €20 million makes him a relatively cheap option for Louis van Gaal moving forward, and the player himself has stated a keen desire to play football abroad in the past. On to another midfielder and Van Gaal is said to have asked United’s board to give him the green light to sign Wesley Sneijder. The Dutch midfielder is wanted by Juventus as well, but his former Netherlands national team mentor clearly feels he has the advantage.
