Premier League duo Arsenal and Liverpool look set to battle for the signature of Goncalo Guedes, according to the Express.
The 18-year-old, who has been dubbed the 'next Cristiano Ronaldo', looks set for an extremely bright future in the game after coming through the ranks at Benfica.
The talented youngster has impressed for the Benfica reserve team, whilst also breaking into the first team of late. He runs out of contract at the club at the end of the season, however, meaning he could now complete a move to one of Europe's big-boys in the near future.
With a release clause in his current contract set at £40 million, Guedes would no doubt prove a bargain if he moved to the Premier League later this year.
It won't be easy for Arsenal or Liverpool to persuade him to join them, though, with German giants Borussia Dortmund also interested in his signature.
It remains to be seen as to whether the English duo step up their interest in the forward anytime soon, but they will no doubt be looking to improve their squads after inconsistent seasons so far.
Arsenal, much like Liverpool, have failed to hit top form throughout the campaign so far, but will be looking to kick on in the second half of the season.
The Gunners, of course, already have an array of attacking talent at their club, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla, Theo Walcott and Co. plying their trade under Arsene Wenger.
However, as the Gunners chief continues to build for the future, he may well see Guedes as a talent that can step up to first team level in the immediate future.
Liverpool, meanwhile, invested heavily this past summer, however a number of their forwards have failed to impress. Lazar Markovic has endured a tricky opening to his Anfield career, whilst the likes of Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have failed to prove their credentials under Brendan Rodgers.
