Football News

The future of Petr Cech continues to dominate the gossip columns and it seems as though Chelsea have made their minds up over the Czech goalkeeper.

The Telegraph report today that the Blues will allow him to leave Stamford Bridge - but only in the summer. Arsenal are said to be interested. It was previously reported that Roma were looking at the possibility of taking Cech in the January window, but with Mark Schwarzer joining Leicester that now seems unlikely.

The Telegraph say he will remain at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season, and from there he will be able to pick his own club. That means Chelsea won't block his path if he chooses to join rivals Arsenal or Liverpool.

Cech was dislodged as Chelsea's number one by Thibaut Courtois at the start of the season following the Belgian's return from a loan spell with Atletico Madrid. The Telegraph say that Cech is yet to make up his mind but if he doesn't get more first team action then a summer transfer is likely.

Chelsea to offer Messi contract

The Daily Star are claiming that Chelsea are getting ready to offer Lionel Messi a massive six year contract to lure him from Barcelona.

The Blues will have to pay his £200 million release clause to get the deal done. Rumours surrounding Messi's future in Spain have been rife of late following reports of a bust-up with manager Luis Enrique.

The chaos behind the scenes hasn't helped either, with Andoni Zubizarreta being sacked from his role as sporting director and club legend Carles Puyol also quitting his backroom role.

Kane joins Forest on loan

With all the rumours of new players coming in at Chelsea there’s one that has already left - the Blues have confirmed that youngster Todd Kane has joined Nottingham Forest in a £250,000 deal.

The Championship club used the money they were awarded from the Sky Bet Transfer Fund to secure the loan deal for the rest of the season. The 21-year-old has never made a Premier League appearance for Chelsea.
