Premier League preview: Manchester United v Southampton and Arsenal v Stoke

Published Add your comment

Arguably the most mouth-watering tie of this weekend sees Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United take on Ronald Koeman’s Southampton, with the winners guaranteed to be in third place come the end of the day. The Red Devils currently sit one point above their south coast rivals, having maintained an unbeaten domestic streak stretching back to November 8th. Rumours infer Robin van Persie could be dropped for the clash, and Koeman could hand a debut to loan signing Elijero Elia. Our verdict? 2-2. Meanwhile Arsenal take on a resilient Stoke City at the Emirates looking to get back on track after their loss to Southampton on New Year’s Day. Arsene Wenger has a number of players out, and both Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey continue to be doubts. Stoke will no doubt be looking to build upon the draw they earned against United during their last Premier League outing, with Bojan almost certain to return to the fold. We predict a 1-1 draw.
