Irina Shayk supposedly dumps Cristiano Ronaldo

It’s all going wrong for Cristiano Ronaldo!

Of course it isn’t, that’s not just hyperbolic, it’s just plain stupid. The Real Madrid superstar picked up his third Ballon d’Or just earlier this week, and on current form you wouldn’t put it past him to level the standings with arch-nemesis Lionel Messi when the prestigious gala is held once again next January.

Ronaldo and Shayk split?

And yet the rumour mill persists in claiming that he and long-term girlfriend Irina Shayk have decided to go their separate ways. The gorgeous Russian model was a notable absentee from the Ballon d’Or in Zurich, with her PR team claiming that she was simply too busy to attend.

Yet for some reason the world’s media isn’t buying that, and they’ve also honed in on the fact that there was no mention of her during the Portugal captain’s acceptance speech - in case you’re wondering that crazy hooting sound he made wasn’t a cry of passion.

Bad news on the grapevine

What makes it more strange is that when Ronaldo collected the trophy last year Shayk was there to join in the celebrations, with the happy couple posting plenty of photos on social media to confirm their harmony.

However just weeks ago there was speculation that the 29-year-old had fallen out with Ronaldo’s mother, prompting immediate suggestions that it could all end in tears.

And, if reports are to be believed, it has. Word on the ever-reliable grapevine is that Shayk has made the decision to leave Ronaldo… how will he ever cope?

Shayk moves on...

Though any official comment from the player has yet to surface it’s fairly clear what may happen next. A period of radio silence is followed by pictures in celebrity magazines that see her with another man. Then she duly announces she’s in a new relationship with me, the author of this article.

That’s providing another extremely successful sportsman doesn’t snap her up first.
