Arsene Wenger makes first January transfer

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he is on the lookout for a new defender. The French boss says he has sent scouts to find the right man for the job. The Gunners boss also ruled out a swoop for Borussia Dortmund ace Ilkay Gundogan. When asked by reporters he suggested he’s only looking at signing defenders this month. That could be because he’s already completed a £2.4m deal for Krystian Bielik of Legia Warsaw. The youngster turned down a move to Wolfsburg to join the Gunners. And finally Wenger refused to drawn on who he will select to play in goal against Manchester City this weekend, with David Ospina expected to keep the gloves.
