Football News

The second biggest pay-per-view of the WWE calendar comes to us live from The Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia next Sunday night and finally WWE are beginning to announce the matches for the event, according to reports

Up to now the only matches announced were the WWE World Heavyweight Championship triple threat match between John Cena, Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins, and the Royal Rumble match itself.

This week on SmackDown, however, a third match was announced that will see The Usos put their titles on the line against former champions Damien Mizdow and The Miz.

Another match added

The two teams have been embroiled in a feud for the past few weeks and this could mean an ending to their current rivalry, dependant on the outcome since current speculation has Damien and The Miz parting ways.

The popular tag team look set to turn on each other after The Miz has been gaining some heat whilst Mizdow has been gaining a face reaction and the likely option is for him to take the babyface turn.

Whilst these three are the only actual announced matches, there are many other matches rumored including Natalya v Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship, the two have been involved in a rivalry which has included Nattie's estranged husband Tyson Kidd and have collided a few times in recent weeks.

Royal Rumble rumors

Other rumored matches include Ryback v Rusev, which can't actually be made official until Ryback's "firing" storyline is wrapped up. And Roman Reigns v The Big Show, which would make sense given the problems between the two giants as of late.

Remember that three out of the four guys above have already been announced to be part of the Royal Rumble match, but they can fight earlier in the night and be part of the main event as well. Daniel Bryan was stopped from competing by The Authority last year, there is no rule stopping anyone who competes elsewhere in the night from joining in with the Rumble.

We are just over a week away from the first pay-per-view of 2015 and it will be interesting to see which of the above matches are announced on the upcoming "go home" episode of Raw.
