Jose Mourinho reveals his biggest regret as Chelsea manager

It’s fair to assume there’s not many things Jose Mourinho regrets from his managerial career. The Chelsea boss has won Champions Leagues, titles in multiple countries and is well on his way to delivering more silverware to Stamford Bridge. Yet, shock horror, The Special One has revealed that failing to sign Steven Gerrard when the ex-England captain was in his pomp is something that still haunts him. Mourinho, whose Blues side extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a 5-0 hammering of Swansea City Saturday, told how both he and Roman Abramovich dreamt of having a midfield trio of Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele, but it was impossible to secure the transfer of the Liverpool talisman. Gerrard is now set to move to LA Galaxy this summer.
