Cristiano Ronaldo only split from long-term girlfriend Irina Shayk last week but reports are already romantically linking the Real Madrid star with TV reporter Lucia Villalon.

Spanish sports journalist Miss Villalon is reportedly dating Ronaldo after the 26-year-old was pictured celebrating the player's Ballon d'Or win.

The rumours of Shayk's split with Ronaldo surfaced after the Russian model did not travel with Ronaldo to the Ballon d'Or award presentation in Zurich in early January.

It was alleged that Shayk had fallen out with Ronaldo's mother - seems like even supermodels struggle with the in-laws.

Ronaldo scooped the main prize on January 12th and afterwards was snapped celebrating with Villalon on the flight back. Villalon posted the picture onto her Twitter account congratulating the Portugal captain on back-to-back Ballon d'Ors.

The stunning TV journalist also watched Ronaldo in action recently against Getafe with a couple of friends.

A spokesman for Irina Shayk at Victoria's Secret confirmed the break-up with the world's best footballer earlier this week.

"We can confirm Irina Shayk has ended her relationship to Cristiano Ronaldo of five years."

UPDATE - 11:38am

Shortly after publishing this story, Ronaldo released a statement to AP confirming the end of his relationship with Irina Shayk.

"After dating for five years, my relationship with Irina Shayk has come to an end," Ronaldo said in a written statement sent to The Associated Press.

"We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now. I wish Irina the greatest happiness," he said.
