Jim Harbaugh's first move as head coach of Michigan's football team was to hire his son Jay as the Wolverines' new tight end coach and assistant special teams coordinator.

This is great for all of us not only because we now know that Harbaugh has continued the tradition of every son being given a name starting with the letter 'J' which is brilliant, but also because we get more incredible stories about his Dad, who is simply on another planet; both in terms of coaching quality and oddity.

Gatorade for Breakfast

In a recent video interview on MGoBlue.com that Jay had on his first day in Michigan, the 25-year old was asked to say something people didn't know about his old man. The answer was classic Harbaugh.

"This time when i was a kid, we didn't have any milk for cereal," the younger Harbaugh starts off. "And i saw him pour Gatorade on his cereal instead of milk. It was the weirdest thing I ever saw...that's not where Gatorade goes!"

Surely eating cereal dry would be better than pouring Gatorade on your cornflakes? Unless someone asks Harbaugh himself about it then surely this will remain a mystery for the ages.

Coach Harbaugh is definitely just a bit weird and this is even more proof to that effect. It's not just me calling him weird though, you just have to see what one anonymous coach told ESPN's Travis Haney.

"I've always been fascinated by Jim, even back to when he played (quarterback) for the Colts," the guy told Haney. "He's weird, but he has such a raw passion for what he does. I'm glad he's back in the college game, personally, and I don't think it's just me."

He's got History

This is just another in a long line of Harbaugh doing not normal things. As we wrote about last month, it was revealed that Harbaugh once smeared one of his players' blood all over his own face while head coach of the Stanford Cardinal. And then there is the story of him wanting to win at laser tag so badly that he stalked a 10-year old boy, relentlessly shooting the child over and over.

Jim Harbaugh is a great football coach that will work wonders for Michigan like he did for the 49ers, but you have to admit that he is just a little bit different to the rest of us. Keep being you Jim.
