As the WWE's second biggest event and the start of the road to WrestleMania is on the horizon, reports are circulating that TNA Hall of Famers and multi time World Tag Team champions Bully Ray and Devon could be surprise entrants in this Sunday’s 30-man Royal Rumble match, according to PWInsider.com.

After successfully breaking the news that Awesome Kong was present and likely to appear at TNA's debut shows on Destination America from New York City this month. There could be some credibility to the story. Following their departure from TNA in October 2014 after Bound For Glory in Tokyo.

It does leave one of the greatest Tag Teams of all time as Free-Agents and able to appear or sign with the WWE. If it was to happen, it would be their first appearance for with the promotion in over 9 and a half years.

Bully Ray and Devon (who wrestled as The Dudley Boyz in a highly successful WWE spell from 1999-2005) reportedly held talks with WWE officials about returning to the company in some capacity.

They have also held similar negotiations with Dixie Carter and TNA in recent weeks, but however they have since been moved to the alumni section of the TNA website. Leaving the door open for a return to the WWE.

It’s unknown whether anything official came from these discussions but it’s clear WWE were interested in bringing them back to revitalise the dwindling Tag team division. Or given his successful singles career amd World Title run in 2013, Bully Ray could be perfect fit as a heel in WWE's upper card. It would be fitting to see both veterans back into the fold. WWE could use The Dudleyz for anything as varied as a Hall Of Fame induction to future video game releases as well.

Although not confirmed for an appearance at this Sundays event as yet. With the Royal Rumble being held in the ECW heartland of Philadelphia. It could lend further credence to the rumours that both Bully Ray or Devon could make an appearance in this year’s Rumble match or provide a shock interference elsewhere at the event.
