While Manchester United's players continue to gear themselves up for an FA Cup fourth round clash with League Two outfit Cambridge United tomorrow night, fans are still living in hope that the club will be active in this transfer window.
After such an impressive spending spree this past summer, the January market has proven some what of a disappointment for the Old Trafford faithful, with the club seemingly still in need of improvement on the pitch after an inconsistent opening half to the season.
However, with the window now approaching its latter stages, the Manchester United transfer links have continued to rumble on throughout the course of the day.
Will Keane on the move
Let's start with the players potentially heading for the Old Trafford exit door. And one who looks certain to leave is young English forward Will Keane. The English striker has failed to make his mark on the first team throughout the course of the campaign so far and now looks set to join Championship outfit Sheffield Wednesday on loan for the remainder of the season.
It appears that, with the likes of Radamel Falcao, James Wilson and Co. ahead of him in the pecking order at the club, he will look to prove himself in England's second tier.
Fletcher on his way
Another United star heading for a loan move is long-serving Scotsman, Darren Fletcher. There's no doubt about it, despite impressing throughout the club's pre-season tour of the US, the 30-year-old has failed to impress Van Gaal throughout the course of the campaign.
It appears, then, that he will join West Ham on a temporary basis, with it seemingly unlikely that he will return to the Theatre of Dreams.
Ramos opens the door
Manchester United have, however, been boosted in their pursuit of Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. It has been suggested that the Spanish international is furious with Real's latest contract offer, which could now see him move to England.
Ramos is certainly the type of player the Red Devils need as Van Gaal goes about improving his back-line.
Klopp makes Reus admission
Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp has rejected claims that star man Marco Reus will leave the club if they fail to secure Champions League qualification for next season.
The Bundesliga manager has, though, suggested that the player could leave the club if he makes a mistake with his key man throughout the course of the season. There remains hope for Manchester United, who continues to be linked with a move to the club.
