WWE: Roman Reigns talks about how critisism impacts on him

Roman Reigns found fame back in 2012 as the powerhouse of The Shield and has since continued to rise in WWE since their split last year.

The former Tag Team Champion didn't perform a lot of promo work whilst in The Shield because Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose worked as the talkers whilst Roman was the one who backed it up in the ring.

Solo trouble

Since The Shield's split, Roman has had to do a lot of his own promo work and isn't delivering it as well as WWE had hoped. Physically he was the biggest member of The Shield and given his Samoan decent, you can understand why WWE have him down as their next top star, but because he is unable to deliver on the mic, many of the creative team are starting to change their opinion.

As well as the creative team, Reigns also has many critics outside of WWE, who vent their frustrations on social media. Roman talked about these people in a recent interview with CraveOnline.

He said:

“I think its hard not to pay attention these days with all of the social media networks and all of the different outlets. It’s so easy to connect with fans nowadays. You know, I have a Twitter and things like that. I’m not a crazy Twitter guy to where I’m tweeting out stuff every day and rarely even once a week, do I tweet. But I mean, occasionally, I read some stuff.

"The funny part is, you have a guy like me who is kind of getting like a mixed vibe from time-to-time. I get a lot of love and then you’ll get the hate in the middle of it but its just funny, the perspectives you know, the differences between the love and the hate.

"As far as the hate, it makes me laugh. Everybody is a critic. Every critic I’ve ever had, they weren’t wrestlers [laughs]. Every wrestler I’ve ever had critique me, they were always into my stuff or what I’m doing out there. For a non-wrestler, someone who doesn’t even know how to lock up, and if we did lock up, they wouldn't know what to do, for them to critique any of us, it really does pop me.”

Big year

Critics or not, Roman is one of the favorites to win The Royal Rumble on Sunday and go on to main event this years Wrestlemania. When asked about this Roman replied:

"I think I have a certain skill set that allows me to compete any shape or size so I think I have enough explosive raw power to compete with John and Brock and I have enough agility and speed and strength to compete with Seth so either way you cut it, I think it will be a great match-up. If I had to, I’d step in the ring with all three of those guys. I’m not scared of anybody.”

The winner of the Royal Rumble match will go on to face the WWE World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania, a title which is also on the line on Sunday, which means the main event for "The Showcase of the Immortals" still remains undecided.
