Arsenal fans can prepare for a frenetic finish to this season’s January transfer window, as it’s rumoured Arsene Wenger is looking to recruit no less than three new defenders by February 2. After clinching the capture of Gabriel Paulista, which is now virtually a formality, the Gunners boss is set to turn his attentions to both Valencia right-back Joao Pereira and AC Milan defender Adil Rami. It’s claimed Pereira is free to leave his current club, and has been told as such, whilst Rami is valued at around £6 million. Meanwhile Liverpool are said to be plotting a surprise move for young forward Chuba Akpom, who is considering contract offers from four different clubs, including Arsenal. The player is looking for more game-time, and with Mario Balotelli under-performing he could be handed that an Anfield.
