Louis van Gaal to axe five stars in Manchester United overhaul

Published Add your comment

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is preparing to step up his squad overhaul by axing no less than five players in the near future, according to today’s reports. Darren Fletcher is perhaps the biggest name expected to get the boot, whilst he’s joined by Anderson, Nani, Wilfried Zaha and Nick Powell. The unlucky quintet will likely be off either in the coming days or in the summer, with Van Gaal set to be handed another huge transfer kitty to redevelop his squad in time for them to mount a fresh campaign next season. One target he probably won’t be getting is Gareth Bale, who has confirmed that he’s happy at the Santiago Bernabeu amidst transfer speculation. Yet Van Gaal might be able to build his team around David de Gea, who reports suggest has signed a new long-term deal at Old Trafford. The Spaniard’s superb form has seen him linked with a switch away, but it appears he’s moved to quell the fears.
