Arsenal midfielder signs new contract

Mikel Arteta has committed his future to Arsenal by way of signing a one-year contract extension, according to his agent, Ianki Ibanez. A whirlwind of rumours had been generated by the fact that his deal was set to end this summer, but it appears Arsene Wenger sees him as useful yet, and wants to keep the Spaniard on the books for at least another 12 months. On a slightly more fantastical front it’s been reported today that Wenger could be considering a shock move for Barcelona star Luis Suarez, who only moved to the Nou Camp in a blockbuster deal from Liverpool last summer. The Uruguayan hasn’t been nearly so potent in Spain as he was in the Premier League, and the Gunners will have big money to spend in the summer. Lastly former Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale has admitted he’d love to join Arsenal! Well not quite. But he did reveal that he used to support the club as a boy. That’s pretty much the same, right.
