WWE star Alex Riley furious after being pulled from Royal Rumble

WWE star Alex Riley has been venting his anger on Twitter after he was taken out of last weekend's Royal Rumble main event at the last minute.

There were plenty of stars who were rumoured to be making their grand return at the Royal Rumble but didn't. Randy Orton and Sheamus were two of the superstars that were supposed to be appearing on Sunday but were eventually pulled out, while there were older stars who were also kept back stage.

But Riley was one we were all ready to come in, it seemed set in stone, only for him to not make his way down that ramp. And he isn't taking it well.

Riley, who is now working as an analyst on Raw and SmackDown build up shows on the WWE Network as well as on Main Event as NXT, has taken to Twitter to voice his frustration with the WWE about being withdrawn at the last minute.

While he never would have had a chance of winning the Rumble, it would have been Riley's first time back in a televised match since early 2013.

Riley had been using the hashtag #FreeRiley on Twitter before the Rumble, but that has now changed to #RileyWalks, which could mean that he is threatening to leave the company.

"Very soon you will see a man put his life on the line for what he loves #RileyWalks
Don't ever try and tell me who I am." he tweeted out yesterday, before adding "I fight for my life everyday, and would have it no other way #rileywalks who walks with me" and "Can u go thru more pain than me?,, we will soon see #RileyWalks"

Admittedly, Riley is making absolutely no sense in the tweets and this could all well be a work, but the tweets along with the string of retweets asking why he wasn't in the Rumble, says a lot.
