Jim White and Natalie Sawyer, of Sky Sports' transfer deadline day fame, have called on football fans to sign a petition to make the day a UK national holiday.

Working with Sky Bet, they hope to create an extra day to wear pyjamas, drink tea and watch all the transfer action unfold on Sky Sports News HQ.

Imagine never having to work again on one of the most important days of the nation's biggest sport. Sounds great, doesn't it? If you want this dream to become a reality, then you ought to give your backing to the movement.

Gaining traction

The petition has been launched by Sky Bet and already has the backing of 11,171 fans that desperate for one extra day off per year.

Jim White said: “The UK currently receives the second lowest number of public holidays in the world! We only get eight days a year, in India they get 18!

"Help us rectify this injustice, help us and Sky Bet to make transfer deadline day a UK National Holiday - are you in?”

Helping the Football League

White and Sawyer are already helping the Football League fans win £250,000 for their favourite club to spend on players in the summer, and to win £5,000 for themselves.
