Manchester boss Louis van Gaal rejected the chance to sign the duo of Cesc Fabregas and Toni Kroos last summer, according to the Daily Star.

The report has suggested that the duo were on the radar of the club's former boss David Moyes, however Van Gaal opted not to pursue them when he took over at Old Trafford.

£51m duo

The duo ultimately moved on this summer, but not to United. Fabregas joined Premier League table-toppers Chelsea for £27 million, while Kroos completed a move to Real Madrid for £24m.

The Red Devils boss did, however, give the green light for the club to complete the signing of Spanish ace Ander Herrera, who was also targeted by Moyes, but the former Athletic Bilbao midfielder has struggled for opportunities at the Theatre of Dreams.

Januzaj will be brilliant

Staying with Moyes, and the now Real Sociedad boss has insisted that Red Devils youngster Adnan Januzaj can become a top player.

In fact, the Scotsman has suggested that Januzaj could even become a centre-forward as he continues to develop at the Theatre of Dreams.

Moyes told reporters: “He [Januzaj] has the ability to go past people, inside or outside. He has quality on the ball and enough arrogance to show it.

“Adnan can become a top player. There’s a composure about him, he could be a wide player or even a centre-forward. There’s a lot of Chris Waddle about him. He’s got the lot.”

Falcao will play for a top club

Radamel Falcao's agent Jorge Mendes has insisted that the striker will play for a top club next season.

Falcao has endured an indifferent time at the Theatre of Dreams and the player's long term future appears to be uncertain, however Mendes has insisted that if the Colombian doesn't stay at United, then he will move to another big club.

Speaking to the BBC, Mendes said: "If he will not stay in Manchester, he will play for sure in one of the biggest teams in Europe.
