WWE: Charlotte has some good news for the Women's division

NXT Women's Champion Charlotte has been creating waves down in NXT for months and the divas in WWE's development territory have already shown that they are without doubt the future of the business with some of the best women's matches in WWE being at NXT pay-per-views.

Future Star

Charlotte is one of the biggest reasons for this, her match against Natalya on Raw a few months ago was one of the most talked about matches on that show and even though she lost, she showed that she was a force to be reckoned with.

This week she was promoting NXT's upcoming Takeover: Rival event, speaking to TalkSport.com when she was asked about her future prospects.

She said: "I want to revolutionize women’s wrestling. “We’ve only given a taste [so far], that’s only a little bit of what the girls can do down here. I don’t know how long it will take, but we won’t stop until we prove to the world NXT means business. I guess that sounds clichéd but that’s what I want to do. I want to be taken as… I know we’re not men, but I want to be a main eventer. I know one day I will main event a pay-per-view. It might not be Wrestlemania, but it will be a pay-per-view."

Charlotte's father Ric Flair is the only two time WWE Hall of Famer and a record breaking 16 time world champion, meaning that Charlotte is no pushover, with a background in gymnastics, she has one of the most unique ring entrances and styles WWE has ever seen.

For a diva to show that she is hoping to revolutionise women's wrestling, is a great sign for the future of WWE. The Women's division has been without AJ Lee since TLC and Nikki Bella is the reigning divas champion and she doesn't seem to be enough to keep the WWE Universe interested in what the divas can do.

Someone like Charlotte could be the one to come in and change the perception of the women of WWE and this makes her inevitable call up to the main roster even more exciting.

Females have never main evented a WWE Pay-per-view, divas had to opportunity to main event Raw in a steel cage match a few years ago, but have never come close to main eventing a pay-per-view, so for Charlotte to set this as her goal will send more waves through WWE and hopefully they will allow her to step up and stake her claim in the coming months.
