Dolph Ziggler vs. Daniel Bryan is a match that has been widely discussed amongst the WWE Universe over the last week or so, after rumours suggested the two could be set for battle at WrestleMania 31.
Both Ziggler and Bryan endured a disappointing Royal Rumble, Bryan was eliminated relatively early in the match when it was expected he would be one of the final few superstars, whereas Dolph Ziggler failed to make any sort of impact as the #30 entrant.
NEW TAG TEAM
F4WOnline have reported that the WWE are now planning on going forward with a new tag team which includes Dolph Ziggler, and Ryback is set to be his tag team partner as the duo teamed up this week on Thursday Night SmackDown.
The two have been working closely together for some months now, dating back to Survivor Series where the two refused to quit Team Cena, and were even ‘fired’ only to make a return and they are still seen together more often than not.
They’ve also reported that Ryback and Ziggler teaming up this week wasn’t a one off, but they intend to make the two a permanent tag team as they’re strong faces right now and get great reactions, and they could also work WrestleMania 31 as a tag team which puts Ziggler’s match with Daniel Bryan in doubt.
If the rumours are true then the match between Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan will probably have a lot more on the line, Dolph Ziggler could be involved in a tag team match and if the WWE intend to go ahead with Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship then this leaves Daniel Bryan without a top opponent.
With Dean Ambrose potentially challenging Bad News Barrett for the Intercontinental Championship this leaves the door open for Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan if Randy Orton doesn’t take on Mr. Money in the Bank.
So it looks as if the WWE may have already dropped plans for the Ziggler and Bryan feud, it wasn’t too long ago that Ziggler and Bryan were pushing for a match at WrestleMania and the WWE were also teasing the match online.
If the WWE do eventually decide against a Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan programme at WrestleMania, and instead have Ziggler involved in a tag team match then there are a few tag teams who could be suitable opponents for the duo.
The most popular choice would be a tag team match against The Ascension, even if the WWE Tag Team Championship is not on the line. It would be a great moment for The Ascension and they would be seen as a serious threat.
The Usos would also be a high priority with the prospect of it being a fantastic tag team match.
Even though fans will get behind the team of Ryback and Dolph Ziggler, it’s no secret that fans would rather see Ziggler involved in a big match at WrestleMania – with Daniel Bryan the preferred opponent.
