Referees need to protect us - Thibaut Courtois

Published Add your comment

Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois has launched a surprise dig at Premier League referees, claiming that they should take goalkeepers into account more often. The Belgian international hinted that sometimes serious fouls on ‘keepers go unpunished, and also accused Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor of standing on his feet during the Blues’ 2-1 win at Villa Park last weekend. Elsewhere the news has spread like wildfire that new Stamford Bridge signing Juan Cuadrado actually used to be a Manchester United fan. The Colombia international’s ex-youth team coach indicated that he might still dream of becoming a Red Devil. Lastly Jose Mourinho has recalled Lewis Baker from his loan at Sheffield Wednesday, though whether or not it’s so he can use him in his Chelsea squad remains to be seen.
