The agent of Angel di Maria has insisted that the Argentine international is happy at Manchester United after reports linking him with a move to French moneybags Paris Saint-Germain, reports the Express.

Jorge Mendes, who's also the agent of the likes of Radamel Falcao and David de Gea, has insisted that after leaving Real Madrid, Di Maria wanted to join one of the best teams in the world so is happy at the Theatre of Dreams.

Speaking to ESPN, Mendes said: "He was at Real Madrid and wanted to go to one of the best teams in the world. He is happy and that's that."

It's not entirely surprising that the ex-Real man already been linked with a move away from Manchester, however, as he's endured a tricky time under Dutchman Louis van Gaal of late.

Old Trafford struggles

In truth, injuries have slowed down his progress throughout the course of the campaign, but he's failed to find consistency and reach top form in recent months.

On top of that, Di Maria has been used in a number of different positions in recent months, and seemingly still hasn't found his best position on English soil.

There's no doubt about it, things haven't completely gone to plan for the club's No.7, but he has more than enough about him to prove his credentials sooner rather than later.

Perhaps, then, with the season approaching its latter stages, the talented forward will find his form of old as he goes in search of success over the coming months.

After starring in United's 3-1 victory over Premier League strugglers Burnley last night, Di Maria will now turn his attention to the FA Cup as the Red Devils prepare to take on League One outfit Preston North End at Deepdale on Monday night.

Staying at United?

Surely, then, after arriving for a British record fee from the Bernabeu this past summer, Di Maria won't be leaving the club behind anytime soon. A move to PSG, then, appears to be unlikely, as Van Gaal and Co. look to hold onto their star man as they go in search of success over the coming years.

With United determined to get back into the Champions League, the Argentine international looks set to have a huge role to play.
