Jose Mourinho wants to keep Thibaut Courtois focused

Jose Mourinho has revealed the reason behind dropping Thibaut Courtois for last night’s close-fought victory over Everton. The Special One opted to use Petr Cech between the sticks, something he’s rarely done this season, and as such a whirlwind of speculation hit the internet as to why. However, rather than having a specific complaint with Courtois Mourinho claimed it was just to ensure the young stopper keeps his focus. His decision was somewhat vindicated when Cech pulled off a masterful save to deny Romelu Lukaku. Interestingly the Chelsea coach wasn’t happy when asked if he would be punishing Branislav Ivanovic for a perceived headbutt on Everton’s James McCarthy. He told the interviewer not to make him laugh, before walking out after just one more question.
