This Sunday will see the 2015 NBA all-star game and the fans have descended upon New York City ahead of the big game.

The game will draw a lot of attention to one of the most famous arenas in the world in Madison Square Garden.

Whilst the basketball world will watch with fans of different teams pulling for their own representatives, one set of fans may be very unhappy.

Ironically, the fans who may have reason to be unhappy are those who call MSG home as the New York Knicks fans may see one of their players take to the court on Sunday.

It all comes from Knicks star player Carmelo Anthony who has promised that he will play some part in Sundays All-Star game.

The Knicks are currently in the midst of an horrendous season that has seen them go 10-43 so far.

Anthony's year has been marred by injury as his knee continues to limit exactly what he has been able to contribute but he has issued a statement that may anger Knicks fans.

"Even if I come out and just play a couple minutes and just wave." - Anthony's promise for the All-Star game.

Anthony has promised to make an appearance on court at some point in Sunday's game but has also claimed that it is very likely that he will shut down after the game.

The All-Star game could be Anthony's final appearance of this season and Knicks fans may prove unhappy that he is determined to bow out in the game.

Seeming to favour a final appearance in the All-Star game than just taking time out to help his recovery could cause outrage amongst the Knicks fans who have been growing more and more frustrated with their teams failures this season.

A bad year

With the Knicks having won just 10 games all season, it perhaps not surprising to see that they are currently on a five game losing streak.

The Knicks don't play now until February 20th and the fans will surely be hoping that they use that time in order to iron out some of their struggles this year.

With New York now squarely at the bottom of the NBA in the standings, they are surely in line for a good spot in the draft.

But the Knicks have a lot of work to do to appease their fans particularly in light of recent bad press for the team.
