Derrick Rose shines in Chicago Bulls win

We begin in the NBA where it looks like Carmelo Anthony’s season is all but done. With the New York Knicks nowhere near playoff contention Melo confirmed to reporters that it is very likely he is shut down for the year after this weekend’s All-Star game in a bid to recover fully from injury. Elsewhere in the NBA Derrick Rose was the star in the only game played last night. Rose led the Chicago Bulls to a 113-98 win over the in-form Cleveland Cavaliers. Meanwhile in the NFL, reports suggest that the Arizona Cardinals have begun talks on a new deal with veteran wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. There is speculation that the Cardinals could trade away their all time leading receiver if a restructured deal cannot be agreed. Finally, in the NHL the Edmonton Oilers caused a major upset by beating the Eastern Conference topping Montreal Canadiens 4-3 last night.
