Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain mocked teammate Jack Wilshere on Twitter last night after the Gunners midfielder uploaded a picture of his homemade bruschetta on Instagram, reports the Daily Mail.

Wilshere, who has been the subject of much criticism following issues involving smoking, was clearly trying to impress his followers with his dinner, but his teammate was in the mood to have a bit of playful fun with his fellow England international.

Fun and games

In fact, the Ox told Wilshere to 'have a day off' and asked: 'who you trying to impress geez?!!'

Well, in truth, perhaps the midfielder was trying to impress his many followers, but will most certainly be relieved to be in the headlines for the right reasons after recent controversies.

Oxlade-Chamberlain may not be too impressed with Wilshere's cooking, but we have to give him a bit of credit. It doesn't look half bad.

On the pitch, though, Wilshere will be desperate to return sooner rather than later as he looks to prove his credentials to the Arsenal regime and faithful once again.

The Gunners ace has been out of action since picking up an ankle injury in the club's defeat to rivals Manchester Unitd in November, but could be in line to return for this weekend's all-London clash with Crystal Palace.

There's no doubt about it, it looks set to be a huge couple of months for Wilshere at the Emirates.

Deserves a break

Wilshere may not be the most responsible young footballer out there and he does make mistakes, but he certainly has a bright future ahead of him.

Let's just hope he can stay injury free over the coming months and years, and he may well just prove his critics wrong.
