Louis van Gaal tried to sign Borussia Dortmund star

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal DID try and land Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus before the player signed a new contract, but the forward ignored his calls. That’s according to sensational reports coming out of Germany this morning, claiming that the United boss was keen to land the playmaker, and made a personal attempt to convince him to leave Dortmund. Ultimately though the 63-year-old was unsuccessful in his endeavours, and thanks to Reus’s new contract it will be significantly harder to land him in the future. It’s not all bad news though as United have supposedly turned their attentions to Tottenham’s Kyle Walker, with the search for a right-back still on. Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne and Barcelona’s Dani Alves are other targets, but it’s said discreet enquiries have already been made for Walker.
