Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has insisted that there is a select number of clubs who can afford his client, who is steadily growing a reputation as one of the world’s best midfielders.

In an interview with Spanish daily Marca, Raiola stated that it was his belief Pogba could only be purchased by seven clubs in world football, despite the fact he has a large number of suitors vying for his signature. The France international has gone from strength to strength in Turin, and as such the speculation surrounding his future continues to increase.

Suitors aplenty

Sources claim that Manchester United and Chelsea are amongst the clubs interested, whilst Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid all also harbour an intent to sign him.

Yet with a price-tag of €100 million any club hoping to negotiate a deal will have to do plenty of groundwork, and due to the new Financial Fair Play rules there’s other factors to consider.

Raiola theory

"For me, he is the flagship of a new generation, the star, the leader. Today, there is nobody like Pogba. Including Barça, there are only seven clubs that can afford him," Raiola said.

Just which club would be his preference remains to be seen, with a move to the Premier League sure to be of interest due to his previous ties with United. Though he wasn’t deemed good enough for the first-team before he left Old Trafford he certainly would be now, but when competing against the world's best clubs the Red Devils will definitely struggle.
