Worcester City's Shab Khan sees red for body slam

Nemanja Matic will miss Chelsea’s next three matches following a red card in the draw with Burnley on Saturday, which he got for reacting to a very poor challenge from Ashley Barnes – but it was nothing compared to what happened in the Conference North.

WWE could have a new star in the shape of Worcester City player Shab Khan, who, like Matic, was on the receiving end of a shocking tackle from an opponent, Charlie Russell of Stockport County in this case.

Where the Stamford Bridge star reacted to the potential leg-breaker by charging at Barnes and shoving him to the floor, it was a friendly gesture compared to what Khan did after being kicked up in the air.

The central defender was probably as outraged as Matic, but instead of a push he went into full Hulk Hogan mode and picked up Russell before body slamming him into the ground. As one can imagine, the reaction didn’t go down too well with the referee.

Khan was obviously shown a red card, though he doesn’t get the win because he failed to follow up the finished with the three-count pin. Amazingly, however, Russell only received a yellow – he tried to kick Khan over the advertising hoardings! Check out the video below…

Anyway, it was the entertaining highlight and Worcester manager Carl Heeley will be relieved that going down to ten men didn’t end badly for them, eventually running out 2-0 winners at Aggborough.
