Manchester United flop Nani produced a moment of genius for Sporting Lisbon on Sunday as he struck a 30 yard thunderbolt as his side beat Gil Vicente by two goals to nil.
The 28-year-old, who is currently on loan at the Portuguese outfit after failing to impress Red Devils chief Louis van Gaal in pre-season, has enjoyed a solid season with Sporting and certainly proved his ability in yesterday's clash.
In fact, after scoring the screamer - with his teammates all around him - he took to the floor and started crying. Clearly, then, Nani was overjoyed with emotion despite admitting that he was lucky.
Speaking to reporters after the clash, the winger said: "It was a goal like any other,' he told reporters. 'I received the ball, saw the goal, shot and I was lucky.
"I thought about myself and everything that I have gone through. It's personal stuff, that nobody knows about."
Despite securing the three points yesterday, Sporting are still some way off the pace at the top of the table, with Benfica leading the way.
Manchester United not so lucky
It wasn't such a good weekend for Nani's parent club Manchester United, however, as Van Gaal's side suffered a fifth Premier League defeat of the season as they went down by two goals to one against Swansea City.
Despite taking the lead in Wales, United failed to take anything away from the game, which leaves them just inside the Champions League places.
Nani's future at Old Trafford?
Despite Nani's strong form at Sporting this term, a long term future at Old Trafford is surely unlikely for the winger.
Time-and-time again during his stint in England, the wide-man failed to produce the goods on a regular basis, which ultimately led to his departure.
Of course, under Van Gaal, United are struggling to hit top form, but don't expect to see Nani in a red shirt anytime soon.
