When Raheem Sterling secured Liverpool’s fourth win in a row as the Reds overcame Southampton yesterday, the travelling supporters went crazy.

Sterling ran off to celebrate with his teammates in from of the away fans and some of the fans in the stands got a bit over-excited and started rushing towards to the front row.

It was one fan in particular though that saw his chance to celebrate with Liverpool’s goalscorer as he thought it was a good idea to jump over the hoardings at the edge of the pitch to join in the celebrations with Sterling and co.

However, one Southampton steward was on his toes. He spotted the jubilant Reds fan as he made his way over the hoardings and grabbed him.

He didn’t stop there, though, as the fan still wanted to get close to his heroes, so the steward delivered a perfectly executed Rock Bottom to the fan.

Incident needed commentary

It would have been perfect if Sky Sports commentator Alan Parry was replaced by legendary WWE commentator Jim Ross for a split second so his the screams of “God Almighty! Rock Bottom!! Rock Bottom!!” could have accompanied the move.

Like many wrestlers who have been on the end of a Rock Bottom, the fan wasn’t getting up, he was down for the one-two-three.

Maybe Wayne Rooney should try and get hold of the steward so he can have his back as WWE superstar Wade Barrett continues to call out the Manchester United captain on Twitter.

Is this the best Rock Bottom of all time? Have your say in the comments below!
