Cam Newton not negotiating with Panthers - wants market to settle

We begin in the NFL, and Cam Newton is adopting a wait-and-see approach regarding his contract negotiations with the Carolina Panthers.

The star quarterback is willing to let the market settle, with potential huge deals for fellow QBs Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson in the pipeline.

Newton waiting

"The Charlotte Observer reported Saturday that Newton's representatives were scheduled to meet with the team officials at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Don't expect a new deal to come together quickly, however," reported

"According to two league sources, Newton plans to let the market reset with Colts quarterback Andrew Luck and Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson negotiating toward huge new deals."

Jameis Winston compared to Manning

Sticking with the NFL, and first-round draft prospect Jameis Winston gained rave reviews at the Scouting Combine at the weekend.
