Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has been accused of many things this season, but one that is repeatedly regurgitated by many who have been associated with the club is that he was wrong to sell Danny Welbeck to Arsenal. Gary Neville has brought the topic to the forefront of the media once more, claiming that the new Red Devils’ manager was wrong to offload the England international as he offers something different to the likes of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao up front. Welbeck has yet to become a consistent goalscorer for Arsenal, but he’s been a strong player this season, and perhaps his work-rate would have helped United during games where they’ve struggled. Meanwhile the future of Tyler Blackett is said to be close to being resolved, with the youngster set to be handed a lucrative deal. According to reports his wages will jump from £2,000-a-week to 20, and the contract will run for two years.
