Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal was always tipped to make big changes this summer, but none will have expected just how far he’s supposedly prepared to go in his endeavours. The Daily Telegraph this morning report that not only is the Dutchman ready to offload Rafael da Silva, but he’s also carefully considering the futures of ten other first-team players. It’s said Van Gaal is meeting with senior figures at Old Trafford to discuss options regarding the likes of David de Gea, Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao. Amongst others Michael Carrick could be handed a one-year extension, Tom Cleverley has been told he can leave at the end of the season and Jonny Evans is the most at risk of being given the chop in the defence. Meanwhile Van Persie’s season has been dealt another blow, with it being claimed that he’s facing up to four weeks out thanks to ankle ligament injury he picked up against Swansea City.
