Francesc Fabregas hails Capital One Cup win

Francesc Fabregas has spoken of his delight at Chelsea winning the Capital One Cup, and contrasted the feeling to the bitter disappointment he felt at failing to win silverware with Arsenal. The former Gunners captain caused quite the stir when he moved to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona last summer, but his transfer appears to have been vindicated, with the Spain international lifting his first trophy in England before his debut campaign in west London has even finished. Fabregas said it was a special moment, but was keen to make clear he was now focusing on Wednesday’s domestic showdown with West Ham. Meanwhile Jose Mourinho has shed light on an emotional speech Nemanja Matic made before the final on Sunday. The Serbian international was banned for the game for his red card against Burnley, but delivered a message aiming to inspire his teammates. We get the feeling it worked.
